Sometimes borders can be quilted vertically, other times the quilt must be turned. It all depends on the type of border. What works best on one quilt may not be the best solution for another quilt. This series offers techniques and tips for a number of methods of quilting borders.

  • Side Border - Chuncked Method

    Removing the quilt from the frame, trimming, turning, and loading again all take time. Some border patterns can easily be quilted in segments using this method for chunking.

  • Easy No Trim Method for Turning Quilts

    Sometimes turning the quilt is the best way to quilt side borders. Use this method. It is easy, does not involve trimming the sides first, and uses a quick attach method that takes only about 5 minutes total. You are quickly set up to quilt the sides, now turned horizontal.
